Paid remote legal internship at the Office of Sahibnoor S. Sidhu
Please read the following guidelines before filling out this form to apply for this Paid remote legal internship
1. This paid remote legal internship will involve you working from home from 10 AM to 6 PM. It is a research-intensive internship, so please ensure you are not interning elsewhere during the same period.
2. You must be available to respond to messages and calls during working hours. Once the clock strikes 6, in the evening, you may as well block me till the next morning. I will not mind that.
3. In recognition of your efforts and assistance, you will be offered an honorarium of INR 10,000 for each month of internship. I don’t believe in making people work for free or in lieu of “LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION”. If we work well together, I will be happy to write a LoR for you, if you need one.
4. For June 2025, the internship will go on from 1st June- 2nd July. For July 2025, the internship will go on from 1st July to 31st July. The overlap is to ensure that the handover process is smooth.
5. The working days for the internship will be Monday to Saturday. Sunday is your own, and I am okay if you take up to 3 other days off in the duration of your internship. You can utilise them towards important functions, menstrual leaves, sick leaves, etc. Any leaves beyond that would merit a deduction from the honorarium.
6. We will be using a lot of Google Meet to discuss things, to brainstorm, and to catch up about what you did throughout the day. So, make sure that your internet and laptop work well. If they stop working, please let me know, so that I can relieve you of your responsibilities.
7. The deadline to fill this form is May 10, 2025, 11:59 PM. I will not be able to accept any more applications after that date, and ideally, you should refrain from emailing me with your application material.
8. If you believe that you can do this internship as a part-time affair, while interning elsewhere (a law firm or a lawyer’s chamber), you are seriously mistaken.
9. You will be reading, reading, and reading; writing, writing, and writing; briefing, explaining, and researching for me for those 8 hours with more than 4-5 Google Meet calls in the day.
10. THIS INTERNSHIP IS ONLY OPEN TO students who have completed their sixth semester of the 5-year law program. The only exception is the section I taught this semester (Section A BALLB 2023-28 at JGLS).
